Kala Day

If I don't rap a bit about Kala today, it will be like ignoring the elephant in my living room.

Today is the official North American release date of Kala. It's not such a big deal for me. Don't get me wrong—I'm still amped than a mug about the album in general, but I am reserving my enthusiasm on this specific day for several reasons:

1) Kala leaked a few weeks ago.
2) You could (and still can) _legally_ listen to Kala in its entirety online via Maya's MySpace as of last week.
3) My advance radio copy came in last week, so I've already gotten to digest the artwork.
4) I'm not buying the U.S. version—I'm buying the Japanese version for the three bonus tracks. Why? Because I _crave_ those three scraps of leftover audio. I'm a vulture like that.

Anyway, since we're on the subject of Kala , here is the tracklist arranged in order of my own preference (most favorite to least favorite):

Boyz [prod. by M.I.A. & Switch]
Birdflu [prod. by M.I.A., co-prod. by Switch & Cavemen]
Paper Planes [prod. by Diplo, co-prod. by Switch]
Jimmy [prod. by M.I.A. & Switch]
Mango Pickle Down River [prod. by M.I.A. & Morganics, co-prod. by Diplo]
XR2 [prod. by Diplo, co-prod. by Switch]
Bamboo Banga [prod. by M.I.A. & Switch]
Come Around [prod. by Timbaland]
World Town [prod. by M.I.A. & Switch]
The Turn [prod. by M.I.A. & Blaqstarr]
Hussel [prod. by M.I.A., Switch & Diplo]
20 Dollar [prod. by Switch]

Once I get my copy of the Japanese version (which, that reminds me I still need to order it), I'll do a track-by-track review.
