I got to hear the new Amadou & Mariam album, Welcome to Mali, earlier today. I'm still sulking.

The still-bangin' Damon Albarn-produced "Sabali" definitely got my hopes up, so I blame it. The rest of the album bears no resemblance to that song. However, A&M purists are in luck. If you like your A&M sans the mellow electro-house vibes, you're in good shape. Welcome to Mali is stylistically on par identical to A&M's last album, Dimanche a Bamako.

"Sabali" turned out to be a lie.
