Crookers - "What Up Y'all (607 Freestyle)"

607

UPDATE: The download links have been fixed. Sorry 'bout that.

Hailing from Little Rock, 607 is one of the hardest working and most prolific musical talents in my state. I often think of him as "rapper most likely to put Arkansas on the map."

Known for dropping a new full length every three months, Six has been featured on CNN and gotten spins at just about every urban, community, and college radio station in the state. He's been playing shows and releasing music since 1997. His new album, Mirrors of Time, is his 31st. If he keeps it up much longer, it's only a matter of time before some "Big Four" A&R agent finds him and snatches him up.

Six has been known for flipping oddball samples since long before rave-rap and the Huntsville scene came into the limelight. He's lifted samples from Röyksopp, King Crimson, Mylo, Loreena McKennit, Robyn, Björk, Opeth, Tangerine Dream, Zero 7, Crash Test Dummies, Britney Spears, Chicago, Fiona Apple and Basement Jaxx, just to name a few. So when Six sent me this Crookers freestyle, I wasn't too surprised, but I was delighted nonetheless:
