I've been having conversations lately about how
OFWGKTA could be the rap Nirvana. And that totally sounds like some corny
Rolling Stone op-ed piece, but in other words, Odd Future could inspire a legion of imitators and completely reconfigure the hip-hop mainstream. If this happens, you can bet that 95% of mainstream rappers who have become popular since '96 or so would be out of a job. You can't just go 10 year rhyming earnestly about cars and money and then comfortably change lanes into OFWGKTA territories. It'd be a train wreck. This is evidenced by recent impossibly boring "Yonkers" freestyles by
N.O.R.E.,
Styles P and
Ace Hood.
607, on the other hand, has no trouble whatsoever jumping on "Yonkers" and completely murdering 16. This is the first flip/remix 607 has graced AiMT with in something like 15 months. This one's
long overdue, and it's "Yonkers," so yeah, NSFW:

Lord Six is working on a new
earFear album with
Bobby, so hopefully we'll get another goody or two out of him before he's done recording. In the meantime, you can stream the entire "old" (December, 2010) earFear album on the right sidebar, or go watch
the epic video for "Facebook Fraud" right now if you missed it.
Also catch 607
opening for Big K.R.I.T. in Little Rock on June 3.
