Baby Armie, Mandelhog and DJ E-Yo at JR's tomorrow

Just a quick heads up that I'll be DJing alongside Mandelhog (Messy Sparkles' DJ alias) and The Concrete Schoolyard's DJ E-Yo. It will be a highly eclectic night. No telling what we'll end up playing.

Here are a couple of goodies in the meantime, including an unfinished remix for Architecture in Helsinki I got commissioned to do back in '07.

Baby Armie goes internet gold (and other stuff)

This is just a little something in the interim while I climb out of another posting hiatus. My Sean Kingston/Rusko mashup went "internet gold" about a month ago. The download count stacks up past 118,000 at this point.

Also, my Skrillex/G6 mashup has garnered a lot of attention lately, mainly due to a YouTube stream.

Manilla Killa put their own spin on the blend, and you can download it in the Swagged Out, Vol. 1 mashup pack:

Baby Armie x Skrillex x Far East Movement x Ferro x Noisia - "Scary Like A G6 (Manila Killa Bootleg)"

Crizzly in Little Rock tonight at Sub Kulture

Just a quick heads up that San Antonio dubstep champ Crizzly is headlining tonight's Sub Kulture at Downtown Music Hall in Little Rock. Here's his take on L.A. Style's '92 techno classic "James Brown Is Dead":

L.A. Style [ft. Big L] - "James Brown Is Dead (Crizzly Remix)"

I'll be opening alongside Wolf-E-Wolf. Stoked!

Eliot Lipp in Fayetteville Tonight

Eliot Lipp

Just a quick heads up that Eliot Lipp, a longtime key player in L.A.'s beat scene, will be at George's tonight. I'm not exactly sure how so many Fayetteville kids are up on Mr. Lipp, but I'm guessing the local festival circuit has played a big role. If you can brave the weather, try to come out and encourage local promoters to book more acts like this. We're in dire need of it.

Lipp recently dropped an album with Leo 123 under the name Dark Party but hasn't recorded much solo work lately. Here's a cut from his '09 LP, Peace Love Weed 3D:

Eliot Lipp - "Sand Castle"

Baby Armie - Always the Movement

Took me forever to find the OG Walmart font.
I've done some low-key one-offs here and there over the past year, but this is my first "proper" mix in OVER a year. My schizophrenia as a DJ isn't slowing down—since I launched AiMT, I've thrown down disco, electro, bmore, Bollywood, and who knows what else. This time around it's a full-on dubstep set. It's meant to be a companion piece to the new Dubstep Thursdays at Speakeasy.

This particular mix has more Baby Armie exclusives than any other I've put out. I'll be posting them individually in the coming weeks (and you can grab that G6 jernt after the jump for starters). It's also steeped with A-state friendliness: unreleased tracks by Wolf-E-Wolf and Sleek, an unreleased 607 flip as well as his killer Basement Jaxx one, and exclusive blends by yours truly, including one of Fayetteville rapper and Concrete Schoolyard co-host T.Jay's new track "Breakfast & Biggie." (Cop it off iTunes.) Oh! And most importantly, there are multiple Walmart references to round out the Arkansas vibes. Enjoy!

Kanye West [ft. Biz Markie, Kid Cudi, Common, Pusha T, Big Sean & Charlie Wilson] - "G.O.O.D. Friday (Baby Armie's Just a Blend)"

Biz Markie

I'm sure 900 other people will make this exact same mashup, but I couldn't resist. Just a simple edit for the club. Leave me a timed comment on SoundCloud, and I'll send you a 320k MP3 direct link.

Ciara vs. Guido [ft. Ludacris] - "Ride (Baby Armie A+B)"

Ciara vs. Guido

UPDATE: So I just discovered (upon Googling "ciara vs guido") that Giographic already blended these two songs back in May. Big time facepalm, but the two versions are different enough that I feel justified keeping this version up. His version seems to use the full version of "Ride," whereas mine just uses the acapella. I'm guessing a proper acapella version wasn't available when he made his back in May. Anyway, freakishly unlikely things happen sometimes. Moving forward.

Just a quick dubstep slow jam blend for that ass. Check out the instrumental source, Guido's "Mad Sax," off his new album Anidea (iTunes, $9.99).

Speaking of dubstep, I'll be spinning alongside Fayetteville DJ Domewrekka Wednesday night at Fix. It will be an ALL-dubstep night, so—you know—bring ear plugs and stuff. RSVP link after the jump.
