Tanner Beam - The Lost Cosmonauts

Tanner Beam - The Lost Cosmonautsimage by Alex Tomlinson
Fayetteville expat and top-level Traktor effects Dungeon Master Tanner Beam just hit me up with this excellent spacey set. It starts out ambient and downtempo and gradually nestles cozily into a classy seesawing between Balearic disco and smoothed-out minimal tech-house. As a bonus, Tanner threw one of his own tracks (under his Fashionista guise) into the mix. Not mad at all.

Tanner recently relocated to D.C., and if you live there, you should totally book him.

DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS: Leave Mr. Beam a timed comment on The Lost Cosmonauts on SoundCloud, and he'll hit you back with a 320 kBps direct download link.

Tanner Beam's last set in Fayetteville

Tanner Beam & Baby Armie at SpeakeasyRSVP on Facebook
Check out Sayonara Set, a FREE AiMT-hosted party, on Thursday night at Speakeasy. Tanner and I will be doing sets, and Tanner is moving away soon, so this will be his last set as a Fayetteville resident. We figured this would be a good excuse to host a laid-back non-dance party and throw down some mellow joints. So leave your dancin' shoes at home and come out and sip on some $1 wine (until 11:30) and flirt with hawt locals.

Get a teaser track after the jump.

Beat Bachs' Halloween Dance Party

Attention, locals. In case you haven't gotten the memo yet, Beat Bachs' annual Halloween party is happening this Friday, October 30th. Click to RSVP.

In other Halloween-related news, I belong to The Hairy Smiths, a secret mixtape society of sharebros. This club has turned out some fresh-to-death Halloween mixes in the past few days: one by Beat Bachs and one by Blind Derek Jenkins, both of which are essential Halloween party paraphernalia.

BONUS HALLOWEEN JERNT #1:
The Genevan Heathen - "Dance or Die" [dir. by Mattfoley]

BONUS HALLOWEEN JERNT #2:
Krazy Baldhead - "Ghostbusters" [Disco Workout]

Attention local Fayettenam peeps, you're hereby cordially invited to the Beat Bachs Friday the 13th party: Lucky 13 (click to RSVP on Facebook). Sets by Beat Bachs himself, Tanner Beam and yours truly.

On a side note, the first time I went to a Scarpino's show/party was only a few weeks ago. Since then I've been back a few times. It's seriously a classy joint, like one of the classier joints in the region. I'm sad that I slept on it for so long. If you haven't been, you should come out.
